Use of ICT

 

Information, Communication and Technology


ICT is one of the integral part of everyday life for many people. In this modern world the knowledge of Information, Communication and Technology has become very important in everyone’s life. ICT has made our work very fast and easy. It provides us with the different information and knowledge. ICT has played a vital role in Teaching and Learning in 21st century. Students are more interested and engaged in learning through ICT          


         

                                                                                              


                                  

  At this time of pandemic, ICT has played very important role in student’s as well as teacher’s life. Teaching and learning may not happen if there is no technology right now. As we don’t have regular class these days, but teaching and learning is taking place through ICT and the tools that we are using is Wechat and Google classroom. As instructed by the administration we are supposed to assign a task once in a week in every subject.  As per the day allocated, I give small task or activity in my own subject area to the children.  I give them time to do their work and ask to submit within the given time.

 

                                                                           






On 6th August, I downloaded a short video clip to demonstrate on the topic Soluble and Insoluble Substances for class IV science. I sent the clip to the children through Wechat and ask children to watch it. After that I gave some activity to do, I post the activity in wechat as well as in Google classroom.

After assigning the task I give them time to do their work and ask to submit within the given time.

I do correction of children’s work and keep record. I resend their work to them after correction so that children get motivated by seeing their work corrected.

The work that use to takes days and days earlier now it can be done within an hour , so technology has made our work easy and fast. I also realized that the lesson through ICT saved not only time but also resources. I could reuse plan and the materials which are saved using ICT facility. ICT really plays a vital role in making our lesson better and achievable. Therefore integrating ICT is one of the strategies that can be replaced the traditional way of teaching and learning processes

 

                                                                                            

                   

                                                                                                                                                                  

 

                  Correction of children’s work through wechat and Google classroom

 

Despite having uncountable benefits of integrating ICT in teaching learning process, there are also some challenges that, we and our children face during online classes.   Network problem, due to poor network sometimes we cannot assign the work on time , three or four children sharing one phone, some parents could not  manage data so children sometime they don’t send their work on time.

    Great job! You really have given your best effort to help your children learn from their home, but what about the children who do not have the ICT facilities at home? I believed that you also had wonderful plan to reach those children too.

The Novel, Dawa the stray Dog

The novel, Dawa the the story of a stray Dog is a story which is written in 2017 by a Bhutanese author kuenzang choden. The story is very interesting and realistic. There are twelve chapters in the story. Each  chapters takes the reader through different themes and values . Beside few human characters all the major characters are dogs and they represent humans in real. The protogonist in the novel is Dawa who is a stray dog. The novel is written in a simple language . It can be easily read and understand by a common man.I also felt quite comfortable to read this book.The language and the words are very simple and applicable to read. I enjoyed reading this book. Through this novel I have learnt life long values.
